Pigmentation, treated by cause, not by promise.

Pigmentation, treated by cause, not by promise.

Melasma, sun spots, and post-inflammatory marks behave differently. We identify the type before recommending a route.

Honest Assessment

The clinical answer.

Pigmentation has several causes, and melasma in particular can recur. We identify the type and triggers first, then build a plan with realistic, maintainable expectations.

Why Assessment First

Not everyone who asks about this needs it. A short assessment protects you from a route that may not suit your case — and points to what will.

Clinical Context

What is the Eximus route for pigmentation treatment?

Melasma, sun spots, and post-inflammatory marks behave differently. We identify the type before recommending a route.

Protocol Anchors

  • 01Consultation and assessment of pigmentation type and triggers.
  • 02An individual plan combining in-clinic care, daily routine, and strict sun protection.
  • 03Review over time; melasma in particular needs maintenance.
Mechanism

How does pigmentation treatment actually work?

Pigmentation is treated differently depending on its source. Melasma, which is hormonally driven and often triggered or worsened by sun exposure and pregnancy, is managed conservatively because aggressive treatment can worsen it; the approach typically combines topical depigmenting agents, strict sun protection, and sometimes low-intensity in-clinic procedures. Post-inflammatory pigmentation, left behind after acne or injury, usually responds to a broader set of options including chemical peels and laser-based treatments, since it does not carry melasma's tendency to rebound. Sun-related pigmentation is generally the most responsive to laser and peel-based treatment. Because these causes can look similar to the eye but behave very differently under treatment, correctly identifying which one, or which combination, is present is the actual clinical work, and it is why a fixed, one-size protocol is never offered before assessment.

Suitability Mapping

Am I a suitable candidate for this protocol?

Every clinical path begins with biomarker mapping. For pigmentation treatment, suitability is usually determined by:

For diagnosed pigmentation once triggers are understood.
Hormonal factors, pregnancy, and sun exposure can affect suitability and timing.
Honest Expectations

What should I realistically expect?

Melasma in particular can recur, especially with sun exposure, hormonal changes, or pregnancy. Long-term maintenance and consistent sun protection are part of the plan, not an optional extra.
Improvement is typically gradual over weeks to months, not immediate; pigmentation treatments work by slowing new pigment production and fading existing pigment, both of which take time.
Combining topical care with in-clinic procedures tends to outperform either approach alone, but the combination and sequencing depends on the type of pigmentation identified at consultation.
No treatment permanently prevents new pigmentation from forming if the trigger, such as sun exposure or hormonal change, continues unaddressed.
Safety & Risk

What are the clinical safeguards and side effects?

We prioritise physiological safety over speed. Side effects for this route are managed through MD-led protocol adjustment:

Recurrence is possible, especially with melasma; this is discussed openly.
Some treatments are unsuitable for certain skin types.
Sun protection is non-negotiable for results to hold.

Questions

Before you book.

Do I need a consultation first?

Yes. Suitability is confirmed before any treatment plan, which keeps care safe and individual.

Do you promise fixed results?

No. Results vary by person and concern, and maintenance may be needed. We do not promise fixed outcomes.

Is the price fixed?

Pricing is indicative until a clinician reviews your concern. We discuss cost openly at consultation.
